Greeting from Dr. Bob

I am a nerd.  I’ll admit it.  Nothing gets me more excited than continuing education, especially when it involves the whole office!  Last quarter we were lucky enough to have the biggest rock stars in dental hygiene, Roz Fulmer and Pat Worcester, at our office for 3 days!  The awesome two traveled all the way from the East Coast to update us on some revolutionary, non-surgical periodontal techniques for saving teeth.  We are really excited to be able to share this treatment with our patients!

I would also like to thank our kind patients who have provided us with video and written testimonials for our webpage!!  We are very grateful to have such awesome patients that are willing to tell their stories.  We are told daily what an impact these make on fearful patients.  A testimonial is often the stepping stone that allows fearful patients to finally get the care they need!  So from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!  Your generosity makes a difference in other people’s lives.

To your health,

Dr. Bob

Snoring

How did you feel this morning when you woke?  Were you rested?  Did it feel like you got a good night’s sleep?  Often times a restful night’s sleep can be interrupted by those near and dear to us by their snoring   Two-thirds of Americans say their bed partner snores.  And 59% of adults say they themselves snore.  That adds up to a whole lot of missed or interrupted sleep.  So, let us help!  We offer custom made appliances for snoring.

A night without snoring is a night of restful sleep.  Keeping up on your rest can lower blood pressure, decrease stress and your chances of acquiring heart disease.

Mission Possible Training

The Matiasevich Team with Hygiene Rock Stars, Roz and Pat!!

#1 cause of tooth loss

Periodontal Disease is the number-one cause of tooth loss. “According to the 1996 American Dental Association/Colgate survey, U.S. dentists say gum disease is a more pressing oral health concern than tooth decay by a 2-to-1 margin.”  Research has shown, and experts agree, that there is an association between Periodontal Disease and other chronic inflammatory conditions, as well as Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, and Alzheimer’s Disease. Health doesn’t stop at your mouth. We understand that there is a person attached to your teeth and we want the very best for your health.

Factors that contribute to Periodontal Disease

  • Nutrition
  • Sleep
  • Stress
  • OTC Medications
  • Genetics
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Hormones
  • Smoking
  • Disease
  • Dry Mouth

There are multiple factors that contribute to Periodontal Disease; the list goes on and on.  It’s no wonder brushing and flossing alone can’t combat the bacteria!  It’s not your fault.  Bacteria are excellent breeders and can reproduce at an exponential rate when conditions are right.  Excessive bacteria cause infection in the gums.

Imagine a 3″ wound on your arm that is not only tender to the touch, but bleeds and oozes puss. It is constantly irritating and just won’t heal.  It could give you a fever.  It could make you feel run down and affect your blood pressure. That is what an infection in your mouth can be like.  Left unattended, the infection will lead to not only bone loss, but also tooth loss.

Never fear, the Matiasevich Team is here!  We can get that health deteriorating infection under control with amazing new techniques.

It is possible.  Active infection will be a thing of the past.  A future of healthy pink gums and strong teeth are waiting for you.  Your mission and we hope you accept it, is to let us take care of you.  This is what we do.  And we love it.

“Efficient, compassionate”

I had a dental emergency and Dr. Matiasevich worked me into his day immediately.  I complimented him on his great and nearly painless technique of admininstering Novocain; I was in and out promptly, with a great result.  I felt totally taken care of.

Quit Flossing

We know the last thing you want to hear when you come to the dentist is that you should be flossing.  Let’s face it, most people don’t really like to floss.  So you know what?  Don’t do it.  That’s right, a dentist telling you not to floss!  Yeah we are that radical!

Instead, get a Waterpik!  If you hate to floss, but want your gums to love you, pick one up at your local pharmacy.  Waterpiks have been clinically proven to be twice as effective as traditional string floss for improving gum health, plus they are easy and pretty darn pleasant to use.  *Did you know some HSA Plans will pay for Waterpiks if you have a history of Periodontitis or Gingivitis?  Now if that is not incentive to water floss…
