Greeting From Dr. Bob

Giants WinLiving in the Bay Area has never been more awesome! We have great weather (it’s nearing 80 degrees as I write this), great people and THE GIANTS!!! Fans and non-fans alike seem to be cheering for the underdog.

As summer edges to a close, I find it hard to believe it is autumn already. Wow, where did the summer go? It seemed that all summer long my calendar was full. Between finishing up a Fellowship at the California Implant Institute and my eldest son with his driver’s license I had my hands full. Yet, somehow, I did manage to slip in a few weekends of waterskiing at Tahoe!

Speaking of Teams, the Matiasevich Team has some new members that are sure to hit it out of the park! Look for the article on our “Newest Additions.”

I hope this newsletter finds you doing well and excited for the New Year!

To your health,
Dr. Bob

Are You Nuts?

Do you have dental insurance or a flexible spending account? Well if the answer is YES, then you better use up those left over dollars! Truth be told, in most cases benefits do not roll over. So don’t let your money go down the drain.

We know families are busy and sometimes overlook regular exams and cleanings, but by coming in to check-ups, you may actually be able to save money in the long run by avoiding complications that could exceed your dental insurance maximums! Don’t let it happen to you.

If you or a family member is overdue for a cleaning or exam we can get you back on track! Please call the office and set up an appointment at your earliest convenience.

Oh, and by the way some flexible spending accounts allow you to use your unused dollars on whitening as well. Start the New Year off with a bright confident smile!!

GALILEOS: The Future of Dentistry

Are you a techie? Are you the first on your cul-de-sac to have the newest gadgets? Is your name already on the wait list for the next iPhone? Then you and Dr. Bob have lots to talk about!

Over the years our office has integrated the latest technology into our practice. It allows us to treat patients utilizing minimally invasive dentistry. It’s a win/win. We can provide great care and patients are able to receive prompt treatment in the most comfortable and convenient way possible.

In keeping up with our technology tradition, Dr.Bob has installed Sirona Dental System’s three dimensional (3D) X-ray system, GALILEOS, the first ever such system in Santa Cruz!

Galileos’ technology allows diagnostic X-ray imaging with the smallest amount of radiation possible, 10 times less radiation than a conventional CAT scan. With astonishing anatomical detail, it allows more accurate dental treatment plans with improved results. Dental implants can subsequently be placed with unrivaled precision and accuracy.

Galileos literally changes everything! Dr. Bob is extremely happy to be able to provide you with the latest technology that offers: Increased quality of care, convenient treatment in fewer visits with the smallest amount of radiation possible. It makes us smile, and we hope it does you too!

He who does not get fun and enjoyment out of every day needs to reorganize his life.

Keys To Health

Part of the beauty of Santa Cruz, is we don’t have to see the end of summer bbq’s coming to a close. Year round we are lucky enough to enjoy pretty great weather, outdoor cooking and awesome fresh produce: Corn on the cob, fresh broccoli, fall apples and grilled meats. And, nothing tastes like a Corralitos Market sausage!

Do you know someone who wears dentures, a partial or is missing teeth? For a lot of those people it is difficult or impossible for them to enjoy some of these yummy benefits of California we might take for granted. Not only is it hard to chew fresh veggies and meat when you are missing teeth, but also your digestive system can’t properly process these foods. That means people actually don’t get the nutrients and vitamins from the foods they are ingesting, or they may just forgo the hassle of trying to eat them all together. Poor nutrition equals poor health.

Dr. Bob has advanced certification in not only prosthodontics (dentures) but also he recently finished up his Fellowship at the California Implant Institute. That means he is able to offer a lot of different solutions for people who are missing teeth or have ill-fitting dentures and want to be able to eat and smile again.

If you know someone who might benefit from Dr. Bob’s methods, don’t hesitate to share our number. It just might make them feel better.
