Fearful Dental Patients
People who have had bad experiences in the past, the first thing we do is we just want to sit there and listen to them and let them tell us what those fears were so that we can empathize with them and let them know that we’re not going to judge them about what’s happened in the past, that what we want to do is we want to start new now, and specifically that we want to help them overcome their fear. We have sedation dentistry in the office which allows fearful dental patients to come in and get their treatment and virtually be asleep through the entire procedure and not have any real memory of it. That’s really a good step forward.
Everybody in the office has been trained to help them through that. We work as fast or as slow as fearful dental patients want us to so it’s not like you need this, you have to have this, it’s more like let’s get you comfortable and get you so you don’t have to look at the dentist and be afraid like 90% of the population out there so we can get you healthy.
